Mr.Garita ART: TREE OF LIFE ( a symbol of growth and strength. A tree has strong roots which allows it to grow and expand just like a family does.) For this project you will begin by: 1. Choose any colored paper you want. Trace your arm and hands, with your fingers spread wide and cut. Put aside for now. 2. On another piece of paper you want to create a simple background. I made dots all around and then glued my hand on top of it. (see my sample)You can do this by painting or using crayons. 3. Once your background is done and the hand is glued down, you can now cut three different size and colored circles for each finger. The biggest circle goes on the bottom, then medium and the smallest circle on top. 4. Once the above steps are done, you can embellish by using glitter, pompoms, sequence, etc. DUE: MONDAY, MAY 18TH. ***IMPORTANT: Please remember all completed work is to be sent directly to me at my email. Francis saw animals as his brothers and sisters and prayed that God would work through him to help them. Birds sometimes gathered while Francis spoke and listened to him. Francis began preaching to them about the ways that God had blessed them. This week, let's think about how we can be like St. Francis and treat animals with care and kindness. This weekend, I started reading a new book and went for a walk! I'd love to hear about your weekend and your favorite animal in the comment section below! My favorite animal is a dog - what is yours? I always love hearing from you! I miss all of you and I hope you have a fantastic week! Love, Mrs. Chamberlin Choose one game below. Have fun!

Hello everyone, Hope you had a terrific Easter. We are going to continue with new and fun videos for PE this week, introducing an activity we haven't gone over in class, YOGA. I found a fun class online that introduces some techniques and breathing exercises and I think it would be fun for the students to try. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPG3CfY28K0 For our journal entries: K0-2nd grade can draw a picture of them doing either last week's aerobics or this week's yoga or something with a Spring feel. Spanish: Hola, espero que se encuentren muy bien, this a fun video about means of transportation. On the YouTube video if you like to see subtitles in English go to settings + subtitles +Auto translate + English. but the video will be in Spanish https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydfSkhE_q4A Art: Hello 1st Graders: I hope you are all well and had a wonderful Easter. This week in Art we are going to be making a bird's nest. We see all sorts of new life now that it's Springtime and one of those is baby birds. Step 1. Collect fallen twigs outside. You can also gather some grass, pine needles or any other outdoor source you think would work for your nest. Step 2. On a piece of 9x12 any color piece of paper, I want you to draw a brown branch across the paper. **Remember a branch is not a straight line so being a little crooked is good. I want you to lightly draw an oval on the branch. This will help guide you in shaping your nest. Step 3. Break up the twigs if they are long and start layering and gluing down within your oval. Add grass, leaves or other items you found to. Step 4. Every nest needs a family. I want you to draw and cut three different size ovals. You choose the color of your birds. Add detail: eyes, beak, wings. ***If you cannot go outside to collect twigs, you can use construction paper or any other type of paper by tearing it into strips to make a nest. Be creative. HAVE FUN! DUE DATE: Tuesday, April 28th Library: Please continue to read your books and log the books you finish. I would like you to write about your favorite part of a book you completed. Gym:
Hello everyone, I‘m going to change it up this week, I am assigning a fun workout from YouTube. It’s an old video I remember doing as a kid, Mousercise! There will be no journal entry for this week. Here is the assignment: https://youtu.be/3A-rgLgSKCs Hope everyone is staying safe and observing social distancing, while trying to be active. Happy Easter! Coach Jack Spanish: Hola Maestras primer, segundo y tercer grado, feliz Semana Santa. I hope you are enjoying virtual classes. I've been working with your children with different professions, days of the week and also, I add a worksheet with the vowels. Here is a video that will be very helpful to continue their learning progress. Please reach out if you have any questions or suggestions. Mr.Garita https://rockalingua.com/games/professions-story-game https://rockalingua.com/songs/days-week https://rockalingua.com/sites/default/files/w2_5_vocales_0.pdf Art: Hello Grade 1: I hope you are all doing well. I want to thank those students who have sent me photos of their wonderful artwork. Great Work. We are getting very close to Easter so I thought it would be fun to make an Easter Bunny. You can make it any size you want. We will use a circle and oval shapes to make it. You need to draw and cut a circle for the head, a small circle for a fluffy tail or use a cotton ball, wide oval for the body, two long ovals for the ears, four small ovals for feet. Once pieces are all cut out, glue down the body and then head. Add the ears, feet and tail. Now it's time to decorate and color your Easter Bunny. Add some detail like a bow or hat. Maybe your bunny is holding a carrot or Easter Basket. You can use colored paper if you have it or otherwise just color your bunny a nice spring color (pink, yellow, light blue) HAVE FUN! Library: Continue to do your reading. Create a fun reading spot by building a fort out of blankets. Add a few pillows inside and you have a nice, cozy spot to read. ***Parents: Given the circumstances and that as of now most of Term 4 will be by remote learning, I will need to see photos of your child's completed work in order to grade them. You can send me photos every or every other week. Whatever is easiest for you. Please send to my school email. [email protected] Music:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FgTH2mkOkhVGKzs3dofGwC8Dj4OgenAK/view Art: Hello 1st Graders: I want to thank those who have sent me photos of their work. Awesome Job. It's hard to believe Easter is right around the corner where we are unable to go Church to celebrate this special season. I thought it would be nice if we do a project that reflects Easter and its special meaning. I would like you to use watercolors if you have them. If not use crayons. You will be using your warm colors. (red, yellow, orange) This can be done on 9x12 or whatever size paper you have. You want to begin painting a warm color across the page and then switch to another warm color and keep doing this until background is completely covered. If you have black construction paper or another source of black paper I want you to cut a piece of black paper to fit across bottom of background paper. You then want to cut two rectangles and make a cross and glue down on paper.***If you don't have black paper, no worries. Use another piece of white and color with black crayon or paint it. I hope this helps remind you how special Jesus is to us and how much he loves us. ** Would love to see some photos of completed work. Library: Continue to read..😃😃😃 Gym: - Continuation of 15 Minutes Daily of Physical Activity at home - for Week 3, let's focus on ball play. Simple actions, like catching, bouncing and if outside, kicking. Older students can practice sport specific moves with a ball, such as dribbling a basketball, catching a baseball or kicking a soccer ball. - Remember respect social distancing! - This weeks journal entry will be about your favorite teammate or person to play sports/games with. Family member, classmate, neighbor, etc. Either draw a picture of you and your favorite partner playing or write about what makes this person your favorite partner. ART ( O is for Octopus)
Hello 1st graders. I hope you are all doing well. For this week's art project we are going to create an Octopus using shapes. Step 1. On a 9x12 or 12x18 piece of white paper, draw a circle in the middle of paper. Add two circles and a smile (this is a happy octopus).Make four long squiggly shapes on either side of the circle. Now it's time to color in your Octopus. Step2. Where does the Octopus live and who else lives there with him? ( perhaps his family of octopus, fish, starfish, shark, etc.) Once you have made family or friends and colored them in, add wavy lines all around them to show they live in the water. HAVE FUN! LIBRARY: Please continue reading. If you complete a book, please write something you like about it and draw a picture to go with it. If you are in short supply of books, there are many read along stories on Youtube you would enjoy. *Parents: If your child is feeling anxious or scared about the current situation, the following books will promote conversations about these feelings. Clifford and the Big Storm, Jenny is Scared, Wemberly Worried & Lionheart. ** Please feel free to send photos of your child's artwork to my email. I would love to see it.
